Residents in Dana Point were stunned Wednesday afternoon by the semipublic suicide of a middle-aged man just east of Baby Beach near the Dana Point Harbor Fishing Pier.
According to the Lt. Steve Gil of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, a 54-year-old man parked his car near the beach and shot himself.
The suicide occurred near the bustling, family-friendly beach just before 3 p.m.
