Hockey Mom Accused of Unlawful Sex With Boy Players

Kathia Maria Davis, 44, was arrested after alleged trysts with two Beach City Lightning players. She is now out on bail.

A middle-aged hockey mom accused of having sex with two of her son's former teammates was out on bail Monday after being arrested at her Laguna Niguel home last week, authorities said.

Kathia Maria Davis, 44, could face charges of unlawful sex with a minor and lewd acts with a child, according to Orange County Sheriff's Department spokesman Jim Amormino.

She was arrested Wednesday after allegedly carrying on sexual relationships with the boys over a period of three to five years, officials said.

The first victim, who is still a juvenile, spilled details to his mother last week. She called authorities and an investigation began.

"These are incidents that are always embarrassing for the families and disgusting acts," Amormino said.

According to the mother, Davis hosted parties at her home and served alcohol to underage team members, Amormino said.

A second boy also recounted alleged sexual encounters with the dishwater-blonde divorcee, Amormino said. The second boy said he couldn't recall when the alleged trysts began, but he might have been 14, authorities said.

Both boys played for a youth hockey team called Beach City Lightning, Amormino said. Club president Stacey Chilcoff said the two players hadn't been involved with the team for at least four years.

Davis was released from custody after posting $25,000 bail, Amormino said. She has not yet been formally charged by the district attorney's office.

@William--it's an injustice @ how she is handled differently than her male counterpart who has been accused of same offenses. It is not the fact if she is GUILT or NOT. There should be SAME treatment across the booooooooard!!!! I realize that our society likes to view women as natural nurtures and men as those that pillage and plunder but our world is different by all means and we have fought for years for ALL to be treated EQUALLY….So, let it be shown! That’s all I have to say on that. ~Peace~

Need to draw in as many readers as possible...can't beat a headline like that! Got you to read it :D

You have absolutely no idea as to how the 14-year-old mind works do you? Judgment is far out weighd by hormones, and guilt started building up immediately, followed by shame and more. These kids were still KIDS, and do not always have the ability to make the decision that is BEST for them, but their emotions, mind processes and hormones just take over. And for the record, this MOM should have been the one to make the right decision and stay away from these boys. Just so you know, you may say it's not 100% right, but I say it is 100% wrong.

@Hugh---couldn't resist------ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!! (sick)

k. i agree with you to a certain degree but the morals of this country are at the lowest levels of any other thanks to media and culture. we still live in a world of evil and wrong doing . its still about the politics and money and power .this is a stupid mistake this women made and she will pay. i dont understand why this went on for a couple of years.but the fact is shes lucky this did not take place in some other country.where the penilty would have been death.or public humiliation.but i dont think this the cause of sexual predetors .media plays a big roll in alot of ways .stop some of programing and exploytation of children and teens .toddlers and terras /kate plus 8/intervention/and such. do you think these boys mothers are part to blame. could"nt they see the warning sign's this went on for a couple of years.what time of the day did this all take place .during bingo or the casino!!!

Males, even young ones, are different from females. You can't be gender neutral in this matters. Its all so politically correct, but utterly zany.
k^m September 20, 2011 at 04:27 PM
I agree that our society has plummeted to an all time low. We dress our toddlers in outfits that aren’t fitting to ANY age (IMHO) caked over w/makeup to hide their inner beauty and from there things getting progressively worse up to where we are plastering MILF all over media and COUGAR is now a common word among teens in all HS forums. It is a shame. Yet, even more reason as to why this mother should have been more conscious of her actions & behavior around these boys. She took advantage of the situation to her fullest sick satisfaction. Many assume there was no force but isn’t manipulation a form of mental force? Coercion after alcohol consumption? I mean so many factors….we need to wait to see what facts come to surface. I do agree w/you….our society has plummeted to an all time low! Thank you for your reply

Great. It's not enough that I work 70 hours a week AND raise a growing family AND bake cookies for their baseball, soccer, football, hockey and basketball teams. Now I'm going to have to have sex with them in order to keep up with the other soccer moms?
kike Lillo September 20, 2011 at 05:17 PM
CV, you're not an idiot. These older women, younger men escapades are nothing new under the sun. What has changed is how people react to these situations as if they were life or death. It seems to me that the parents are more traumatized then the boys (in this case). Terming the acts disgusting and making the young children (?) to feel dirty for what transpired does nothing other than to make them feel that sex is dirty. What I find amusing though is how this boys are classified as children but if these same young men were to commit an atrocious crime, the same people clamoring for their protection would be wailing for them to be tried as adults. Seems to be a blatant double standard we practice in our society.
kike Lillo September 20, 2011 at 05:26 PM
Women take a risk playing around with underage men. The main point to keep in mind if they are going for the hanky-panky is that these wet-behind-the ears snotty boys have big mouths. They haven't been taught not to kiss and tell, and there is also the uncontrollable urge to brag to their male friends about having gotten some. Ladies, proceed with caution. And thank you for loving us.
Quarlo Quandry September 20, 2011 at 05:33 PM
cv, you are so right. As George Carlin once said -- lucky little bastards.
k^m September 20, 2011 at 05:47 PM
@Kike---I believe you totally jumped topic!!! We are not talking about the teens committing a crime but a mother of a teenage son who POSSIBLY violated a youth(s). I am not concerned about her GUILT per say but moreover the injustice of how unfairly the system is among men & women charged w/the same sex crimes. Penal code 288 is as it states---look it up and the bail schedule and tell me what you think?!?! It’s just a good baseline is all. 44 yr old man & 14 yr old girl? There is a difference? Please pray tell. Even if she was “willing”…as some “assume” these boys were so willing---as alcohol may have been furnished. Nice young PRIME boys all goofy on alcohol with a predator in their mist…whatever u say~~~cause she’s a COUGAR “RAWWWR” I guess, for most, this is a victimless crime because “boys will be boys” and what boy wouldn‘t want that “older woman“ to teach them a few things *sigh* --- what has our society come to OR always been?
Gary Chadwick September 20, 2011 at 06:06 PM
So let me get this right. Those of you who are defending this woman, if it were your 12 - 14 year old daughter and her 40 year old soccer coach, would that be ok? Or if it were your 12 - 14 year old SON and HIS soccer coach, would THAT be ok? To say what this woman was doing is both normal and acceptable tells me a lot about why our nation is so morally bankrupt. People like you should not be allowed to reproduce.
Robert Manning September 20, 2011 at 06:11 PM
Where was this lady when I was 14 or 15? Totally hot! Kid should be flogged for telling his mother.
Ronald September 20, 2011 at 06:44 PM
I feel sorry for the boys too. It was probably their first sex and it should have been with someone who was attractive. They may never be able to get it up again!
kim September 20, 2011 at 07:07 PM
@cv what are you related to the woman?? how ridiculous are you, she is a sicko and you are even sicker!!!!!!!!!!for you to not think that was wrong and she needs to go to jail maybe cops need to come to your house and investigate
Nicarol September 20, 2011 at 07:32 PM
Did either of them stab their eyes out afterward?
Peggy Shane September 20, 2011 at 08:20 PM
You are an idiot. It's that simple.
Robert Manning September 20, 2011 at 08:55 PM
Should give this lady a merit badge for acting out her fantasies. Too bad the stupid kid ratted her out. Also should mention that she is probably quite attractive. The folks who post this story try to post the most unattractive photo they can find. If she were smiling and wearing some makeup she would would be quite attractive.
Gary Chadwick September 20, 2011 at 09:20 PM
And I'm sure you'd give a 40 year old male teacher or coach a merit badge for sleeping with your 12 - 14 year old daughter too, right? But that's different, eh? Why don't you offer up your little girl to an old guy looking to score. Go ahead.
Peggy Shane September 20, 2011 at 10:39 PM
It would appear that commentors are rushing to comment more than to judge. This is not a courtroom. Feel better now that you think you sound superior? LOL
kike Lillo September 20, 2011 at 11:48 PM
A lot of the hysteria surrounding this incident is being generated by adults who I think have forgotten what the growing pains are all about. Although not as common, there are teen girls out there looking to seduce and be seduced. Maybe it goes on just as frequently but girls know to keep it to themselves. I don't know. Just as no one else does either. I do know from my own growing up years that there was a code of silence, things that you kept from your parents. I think if we all had the ability to get into one another's mind, we would be horrified and maybe even surprised at the thoughts that dwell within. Since that can't be done, parents do the next worst thing and give their kids the third degree, badgering them into spilling the beans on what they and their friends do when not being supervised. The generation gap is alive and thriving. It has also gotten more pervasive with its methods.
Loretta September 21, 2011 at 01:14 AM
Are you kidding?? Just because they were boys doesn't make any less harmful. An adult - male or female - should stick to adults and not exploit children. Yes... 14. 15, 16 and 17 year olds are minors, and therefore they are still children under the law.
ralo 14 September 21, 2011 at 01:18 AM
u people need a life, obviously its wrong what she did and shouldnt go unpunished.but instead of criticizing the woman wich im pretty sure she feels bad let alone stupid because she was caught.keep an eye and wonder where your kids are let alone know what their up to, and maybe this wouldnt be happening.dum asses!!! .
k^m September 21, 2011 at 01:28 AM
Kike, I have no idea of what your background is or how you were raised....BUT...the comments I am seeing you post here are just amazing! "code of silence"? I hope you are meaning that the ‘code of silence’ of said “offenses” needs to be broken and not kept so ‘taboo.’ Generation gaps are alive and well EVERYWHERE. It is a shame that MILF and COUGAR are common words today and seen as ‘acceptable’ in our society. JUST maybe if they weren’t this predator would have thought twice before getting these young boys intoxicated & taking advantage of the situation. What could a young boy offer to a 44 yr old woman as well as the flip side of the coin? A predator is a predator….male or female…it doesn’t matter. Make excuses for the pedophiles/violators/statutory rapists….more excuses and shows signs of “GROOMING” if you were to ask me. Treatment is out there!!! SEEK IT!
k^m September 21, 2011 at 01:43 AM
Ralo, nice point....I'd like a COMPLETE FBI background check on ANYONE who comes into contact w/my children before they have any interaction w/them (teachers, coaches, bus drivers ect....). How feasible is that? Oh, wait.....she wasn't on the registered sex offenders watch YET!!!!!!!!! AS MANY AREN'T!!!!!! Seriously, u do have a valid point and it is a parents job to care for their children. We can't smother them @ the same time. YET, W/any form of 'abuse' there are 'signs' and considering this allegedly stemmed over a year+ you'd think these parents would have been tipped off a lot sooner. Let's hope others will take heed.

I am deeply heartened at the civility of the discourse on this subject. There isn't the usual ad hominem attacks. This is a complex and serious issue. I am not certain boys view their sexual experiences the same way girls do. (Actually, I am almost certain they do not.) But the consequences can certainly be different. The adult, if in fact this is true and rarely do little boys tell lies about this kind of thing, (sex with young girls yes, older woman ,no) is ceratinly in charge of the situation. The court must ultimately determine responsibility. But thank you all for being mostly thoughtful and congenial debaters on a very dark and difficult subject.
Mom of 2 October 04, 2011 at 04:29 AM
The fact here is... that this is a grown ADULT woman, who is a sexual predator, that took advantantage of a couple young boys. (with alcohol involved!) My heart goes out to the families involved, and yes, the children will have long term emotional affects of this act. I only hope justice is served, and she pays for this horrible crime.
Sherylynne October 28, 2012 at 04:20 PM
Victimless crime? What are you hiding about you? Will you be the next one we read about who violates a minor?
kevin October 28, 2012 at 05:22 PM
No Brendan, you are wrong, I wouldn't because I am not some stupid fool that thinks teenagers do not have sexual feelings. After going through puberty it is normal to want to have sex despite a bunch of silly laws that pretend teenagers are not sexually mature.
