Crime: Low Clouds Mistaken for Fire; Snapping Pitbull

A rundown of recent calls that came into the O.C. Sheriff’s Department. All incidents were reported within Laguna Niguel unless otherwise noted.

Tuesday, June 25:
Disturbance. 2:32 p.m. Nueva Vista Drive/Madrid Road. A caller reported that skateboarders were riding in planters and in someone’s driveway.

Disturbance. 5:39 p.m. 24800 block of Via Verde. A caller reported that her 17-year-old was out of control and possibly on drugs, but it was unknown what kind. The desk could hear screaming, and the caller kept saying her daughter needed to go to the hospital.

Disturbance. 5:47 p.m. Crown Valley Parkway/Niguel Road. A caller stated that while waiting at Laguna Niguel Car Wash, a man’s pitbull was snapping at customers and wasn’t on a leash. When he asked him to secure his dog, he yelled obscenities.

Assist Outside Agency. 8:07 p.m. Crown Valley Parkway/La Paz Road. A caller reported that while at La Hermosa Park, he could see smoke to the northwest towards Soka University. It turned out to be low clouds, not a fire.

Disturbance. 11:48 p.m. 30900 block of Club House Drive. A caller was heard saying, “Get out! She needs to leave!” When the desk tried asking further questions, he hung up. The woman was crying in the background.
