Cop Calls: Greenpeace Protesters Hassle Sprouts Customers

Find out what calls police responded to this month in Laguna Niguel and Dana Point.

A rundown of calls that came into the O.C. Sheriff’s Department November 5-6. Incidents reported from Dana Point are noted as such. Other incidents were reported in Laguna Niguel.

Tuesday

  • Golf clubs were reported stolen on November 2 at the 24700 block of Castle Road. The report was taken around 5:30 p.m.
  • Two Green Peace members were petitioning to save an animal outside Sprouts at the 27200 block of La Paz Road. They were bothering customers and refused to leave. The incident occurred around 12:40 p.m. 
  • A 17-year-old reported that his father threatened to kill his wife and himself at an unknown block of Mallorca, around 10 p.m. The father was drunk and there was a gun in the residence.

Wednesday

  • A pedestrian stated that he was almost hit for the third time, at 6:35 a.m., while crossing Greenfield Drive and Crown Valley Parkway. He wanted police presence, even though the city did not want it.
  • A man stated that a news crew ducked under police tape around 12:30 p.m. at the 26800 block of Vista Del Mar in Dana Point. They set up camp on his residence, in regards to his neighbor.

The calls represent what was told to the deputy in the field by the radio dispatcher. The true nature of an incident often differs from what is initially reported. No assumption of criminal guilt or affiliation should be drawn from the content of the information provided.
