Bank Robbed in Dana Point

A man in his 30s entered the U.S. Bank at 9:30 a.m., and handed a teller a note, stating: "This is a robbery," according to authorities.

A man in his 30s robbed a Dana Point bank at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, according to authorities.

Orange County Sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino said the suspect was wearing a gray, hooded sweatshirt, jeans and a black beret. He was of medium build and about 5-foot-11.

He entered the U.S. Bank branch at 33621 Del Obispo and "handed the teller a demand note stating, 'This is a robbery,' " Amormino said.

There were no weapons seen, however, Amornino said, "always assume the person is armed and dangerous."

The suspect fled on foot and there was no car seen, Amormino added.

The Bank Robbery Assessment Team is on the scene investigating.

The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of money, Amormino said.
