Spectacular - But What Does It Really Mean

Last week we went to USC and viewed the Endeavor at it's final resting place. You can't go in it, you just get to look at it and walk around viewing the details of the space shuttle program. There is a film showing how the shuttle was transported to USC. It's clever and fun to watch. It is also tragic to think where or country now stands in terms of space exploration. Last week an American astronaut flew to the space station on board a Russain rocket. He was accompanied by two Russians to join 3 other spacemen. You see, we can't get there on our own anymore. If we want to go to outerspace, we, the only nation to land people on the moon have to hitch a ride on a Russian ship. Right now Russia is supporting Syria with weapons and we are supporting the rebels in a limited way. Gee I hope Russia doesn't play their space card and tell us to stop opposing them in Syria or no more flights to space. Yes, I know we pay them but that's pertty sad, isn't it. Just image JFK's surprise to see this once great space pioneering country being reduced to a "pay to fly" hitchkiker. It's sickens me.
