Good Mileage Could Be a Killer

I am still laughing at the article in the Register this morning. It seems that EDD will be raising the tax on gasoline in our fair(?) state.

They need $.70 a gallon tacked onto the price of gasoline to help the state run smoothly. Why are they raising taxes now? After all the sales tax went up to 8 percent. isn't that enough. No it's not and it's all your fault. You see because of rampant un employment and under employment people are driving less.

Less driving means less gasoline burned, means less gasoline purchased, means less tax for Jerry's crew. Got it? In addition because your car now gets better mileage less gasoline is used on those fewer trips so less gasoline is purchased, so less tax goes to Jerry and his crew?

What did they used to say, "Damned if you do and damned if you don't." Me, I just say, Damn those prices are high. What do you say?
