BLOG: And They Say Our Legisators Can't Get Any More Stupid!

I know I usually am bashing BHO but forgive me while a take careful aim at Jerry Brown and our democratic state legislators. 

In their undying love of the lower income, private sector workers and their absolute hatred of private business they have passed one of the most stupid pieces of legislation imaginable. Stay with me on this.

The lower income worker will now take home 3 percent less of their income so that their employers can withhold and, get this, send it to the state government to create a state administered retirement program for these same workers.

Just what those struggling to make ends meet need. That's right, you get to take 3 percent less home so that when you are at an age to be determined, you will be able to get that money.

Of course, you'll have to pay taxes on it then, if there is any left after the state has "administered it."

It will still be reported as regular income as far as the feds are concerned so you'll get to pay taxes on the full amount even though you won't have received it.

Certainly the state will have to be compensated for administering the program. And, let's face it-- the state has done a really splendid job of administering the taxes they have been collecting all these years continuing to deliver deficient after deficient. 

Private business will have to develop a program to withhold the 3 percent or they can move out of the state, reduce the number of employees, not hire anymore or the worker can opt out of the program. 

To make matters even nuttier, Jerry wants you to vote to add more to your sales tax (Prop 30) so you have less monies at the end of the day to spend.

Tell me are these folks nuts before they become legislators or is it an illness they all seem to catch?

Hey, last one out of this state please keep the lights on. Maybe the legislators will leave, too. Shame on Jerry and Shame on them.
