Christmas Delivery was a success!

Our families were very excited to receive their gifts. Dec. 23 as Dave Weiss, myself, Stephanie Oddo, Bruce Birkeland (as Santa) and Bruce's Sharon, Eve Beck and Michael Maw delivered to one of our families.

This family received a full turkey dinner complete with mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, stuffing, corn bread, cranberry sauce and an apple pie. The father received a new pair of Nike sneakers while mom got a crock pot and a Ninja slicer for her kitchen and a $50 gift card to the Shops at Mission Viejo. Baby boy received clothes, the two boys received Legos and Star Wars toys while 7-year-old daughter received a Barbie doll and clothes for her doll.

The family received a family board game and an $85 gift certificate to  On Jan. 1, I delivered gifts to the other family (they were out of town for the originally scheduled date). Mom received the same things as did our other family's mom and dad received a $50 gift card to

This family has five children. Their two teenage twin boys are fans of USC football so they received USC football jerseys, while their tween daughter received a new hair dryer and hot iron. Their toddler son received Star Wars and LEGO toys while baby girl received clothes. This family also received a board game to enjoy family time together. They picked up their own meal on Dec. 22 so they could enjoy it before they went out of town.

All in all, the club through collection raised about $730 and the club matched that amount. I went back to deliver a hand-me-down bike to one of the little boys that her son had grown out of. It was obvious how overjoyed the families were with the generous gifts our club gave this season.

We really made a difference in their holidays! Since this collection was such a success and gift delivery is such fun, it has been suggested to adopt three or more families next year to spread the spirit a little further.

A big thank you to all who helped and contributed to this project.
