From an alleged murder to a missing boy, the city was certainly busy while the editor rode off into the sunset.

They say when it rains, it pours.

After more than a year of serving as your Laguna Niguel Patch editor, I took my first vacation. For one week, I let everything go, and headed into the sunset.

I ask now that I am back: What the heck happened?

While I was gone there was a for seven hours, an alleged murder in a local neighborhood where a major Santa Ana winds, to having sex with players, and so much more.

A big thanks to several readers who tipped me off to all of these stories, but I was off the radar with a tall fruity drink adorned with a colorful umbrella.

But now that I am back and hitting the ground running, I’d like to know if residents feel as if the community is changing?

Is Laguna Niguel, once a quiet bedroom community that has streets that pretty much roll up after 8 p.m. changing before our very eyes?

I’m wondering if we should blame it all on what Donna Stellhorn blogs about today: Mercury Retrograde is back. It started on Thanksgiving Day and will retrograde until Dec. 14.
