MOVIE REVIEW: 'Chimpanzee,' Monkey's Around Perfectly
Disney brings it home with this touching film about a baby chimpanzee that is appropriate for all ages.
Co-directors Alastair Fothergill (Frozen Planet, Planet Earth) and Mark Linfield have teamed up with Disney to bring you a wonderful story called Chimpanzee.
An absolutely adorable and enamoring nature-documentary, it's about 3-year-old Oscar the chimpanzee. He is left to fend for himself when his mother Isha is killed in a territory battle. Unsure where to turn little Oscar is adopted by the unlikely alpha male Freddy.
Shot in the span of 3 years in the Ivory Coast, the imagery alone is worth your 78 minutes. This movie is heart lifting and great for the entire family. Tim Allen narrates and has gotten some slack with his comments and jokes. But overall the imagery that Fothergill and Linfield deliver is worth tuning into the movie and tuning out Allen.
