Grab and Go: Coastal Cleanup and Teen Movie in the Park

Looking for things to do with the family this weekend?

Saturday, Sept. 15,  Coastal Cleanup with from 9 a.m to noon. Students, teachers, parents and friends of Malcom Elementary have a longtime tradition of participating in the 28th Annual California Coastal CleanUp.  Show up at any time on Saturday with a bag and gloves, and help keep our beautiful beach clean. This year’s cleanup includes measuring the baseline of debris on our shores that may have washed up as a result of last year’s devastating tsunami in Japan. Meet at the sand at the bottom of the steps.  Salt Creek Beach. 

Saturday, Sept. 15,  Pretend City Art Studio Sessions, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pretend City is hosting a Rhyme Time Art event, specifically for kindergartners and school-aged children. The Art Studio Exhibit will have your children using their imaginations and creativity to have a great time while they rhyme. This event is included with admission. Saturday, Sept. 15, Kids Bowl Free at  Irvine Lanes, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sign up at kidsbowlfree.com. The Kids Bowl Free program is designed by bowling centers to give back to the community and provide a safe, secure, and fun way for kids to spend time this summer. Children are eligible for two free games a day. Family passes are available for adult family members to enjoy bowling, starting at $24.95 and includes two games per person per day.  Irvine Lanes, 3415 Michelson, Irvine.

Saturday, Sept. 15.  Teen Movie Night in the Park, from 7:30-9:30 p.m. The presents a free outdoor showing of The Ring. Bring a blanket, chair and kick back with your friends for a fun, creepy evening.
