Controversial Couple Selling Former Whitney Houston Estate for $1.5M

The Nellie Gail home once rented by the songstress is now for sale by present-day owners Mike and Mahi Pasha. Shortly after Houston's death in February, they talked to Patch about owning the home.

The couple who own the Nellie Gail Ranch home once rented by the late Whitney Houston have put it up for sale for $1,550,000, according to their Realtor.

Mahi and Mike Pasha have owned the home in the 27700 block of Hidden Trail since 2008, and were featured in a Patch article on Feb. 15. The estate went on the market March 9, according to their agent, Corey Moore. There have been a few calls, and a number of showings are scheduled, Moore said.

Readers were quick to voice their comments about the couple and the story when it first posted. Many called them out stating the couple just wanted "their 15 minutes of fame."

"They have decided to sell or rent it out because they want to move into a smaller home," Moore said.

For years, rumors were rampant that Houston once lived in the Nellie Gail Ranch community, an exclusive area in Laguna Hills, just a few miles from the Laguna Niguel border. It was later confirmed by Mike Pasha that Houston had indeed rented the home.

"From what we know, she rented the house to be close to her drug counselor around 2006," said Mike Pasha 44, a Realtor, on Feb. 15.

He said the couple purchased the 3,400-square foot home for $1.3 million. It was built in 1989 and has four bedrooms, five bathrooms, and a swimming pool.

Pasha said they have not altered the exterior of the home, but the interior has been remodeled extensively.

Mike Pasha said when they moved in, he found an artificial flower in a closet that most likely "fell off of a hat or an article of clothing."

"My guess is that it belonged to Whitney," he said.

In addition, last month Mahi Pasha told Laguna Niguel Patch photographer, Barton Mac Leod, that she found a few boxes of clothing that belonged to Houston but did not elaborate on what she did with them.

According to the most recent CRMLS listing, the home is a "stunning Monet model house with resort-like yard, custom pool with waterfall, spa, patio and built-in barbecue in exclusive Nellie Gail Ranch Estate situated on a level 19,000 lot with rare 145' of frontage. Interior has been fully remodeled with gourmet kitchen with all stainless appliances. Grand entry foyer, spacious master suite. Double-sized family room with sculpted fireplace mantel, wet bar and game area. Main floor guest quarters with private bath. Each bedroom has own bath. Perfectly decorated by a well-known interior designer. This home has been shown on CBS Channel 2 "InsideEdition program."
