$23K Laguna Niguel Wedding Ring Accidentally Sold for $10 Returned to Owner

ORANGE COUNTY, CA -- Almost two weeks after a California man accidentally sold his wife’s $23,000 wedding ring at a garage sale, it was returned to its rightful owner Thursday, Good Morning America reported.

Racquel Cloutier’s ring went missing on June 1, after she hid it in an empty box and then headed to the hospital to give birth to her fifth child, Patch reported earlier this week. Later that day, her husband, Eric Cloutier, accidentally sold the box at a yard sale for $10 (not for $5, as reported by Good Morning America).

The buyer gave the box to her daughter and son-in-law, Andrew and Alyssa Lossau, who later heard Racquel Cloutier’s plea to the media for the ring’s return. The two couples met on Thursday, and Racquel Cloutier was reunited with her ring.

"I don't think I'll be taking it off anytime soon,” she told Good Morning America. "You just can't ask for a better ending to a story.”

The Cloutiers plan to reward the Lossaus by making a donation to their favorite charity.
