Teens are Taking a Stand on Drugs

Fight the horrors of teen prescription drug use and buy a T-shirt, too.

Moms including, myself, , Stephanie Gomez and her son, Dakota, and Kathy Konopka and her daughter, have designed a T-shirt with a powerful statement: "Pills Can Kill!"

Also, on April 19, the city of Laguna Niguel is hosting Drug Trend Parent/Teen Workshop from 7-8 p.m. and is scheduled for April 28 from 10 am. to 2 p.m. Bring your unused pills, prescriptions, no questions asked to City Hall-Police Services Parking Lot at 30111 Crown Valley Pkwy.

As for the shirts, they are selling like hotcakes and are a great way to start up a healthy conversation regarding prescription pills. Here you see my son modeling the two designs. He two years ago. Blake doesn't want to see other families go through the devastation, he is going through.

Not only do they honor the loss of a loved one, the shirts honor those who struggle everyday with the addiction from prescription pills. Parents, siblings, friends, grandparents, and teachers need to all talk about the that's still continuing to take the .

Now with more than in the last four years in Orange County and well over 200 in three years in South Orange County, we all need to do something about it.

The deaths CAN be prevented with stronger laws and government funding for the poor families who can't afford to place their child in a sober living for a long enough time to stay clean.

Write a letter to your congressman. No family is immune to this. It can happen to best of us.  Please write a comment if you would like to purchase a shirt. The cost is only $10 for this powerful statement.

In fact Debbie, yesterday a mom came over to buy some shirts and the first question she asked me was, "how did the bee thing get started?" I told her the story, them my husband walked in the house from the garage and guess what was on his arm? A BEE !!!!

Great shirts, saw someone wearing one last night, it'll make you think before taking a pill that may kill you, nothing like what if..,, and I saw that film and....... It's not a worth the risk.
