Dana Point and Laguna Niguel parents, here is a list of things to do with the family for the big day.

Traditionally, New Year's Eve is considered a holiday celebrated by grown-ups. True, midnight is long past most kid’s bedtimes, but there are many fun ways to usher in the New Year with children in Orange County.

Here is a list.

Many of these require reservations, so call ahead and reserve a spot so you have some place to be to ring in 2013.

1. Bower's Kidseum:  Ring in 2013 at a daytime celebration with plenty of family, friends, and fun for everyone.  Wear party hats, craft festive noisemakers, and join the fun in our drumming circle! Write down your new year’s resolution, and then get ready for an exciting countdown to a colorful balloon drop at 1:30 PM, complete with sparkling cider and cookies.
