3 Holiday Festivals Saturday in Laguna Niguel-Dana Point

If you're looking for holiday spirit Saturday, your only trouble will be choosing which event to attend.

Saturday is bursting at the stockings with holiday cheer in Laguna Niguel and Dana Point.

There's the Winter Festival in Dana Point from noon to 7:30 p.m. Then Laguna Niguel hosts both the annual holiday parade at 10 a.m. and the Christmas Holiday Spectacular from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Find details below.

  1. Winter Festival and Tree Lighting — Dana Point hosts this holiday festival in La Plaza Park on PCH north of Golden Lantern.

The festival includes activities for kids, Santa visits, snow, carnival games, music and entertainment, free hot chocolate and cookies during tree lighting, an “Arthur Christmas” movie screening (5:30-7 p.m.) and the Spark of Love Toy Drive.

  2. "Through the Eyes of a Child" Holiday Parade — A holiday parade with over 100 entries, including the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile, is coming to Laguna Niguel Saturday.

Entries include marching bands, floats, youth groups, equestrian units, military members and local heroes.

Parade watchers are encouraged to bring chairs and take advantage of the free shuttle, available from the Chet Holified Federal Building (the ziggurat) parking lot off Dorine/El Lazo.

Event will go rain or shine, unless conditions are determined unsafe.

Crown Valley Parkway will be closed between Moulton and Niguel Road from 5 a.m.-2 p.m. on parade day.

  3. Christmas Holiday Spectacular — The Laguna Niguel senior center is providing an $88 trip to Glendora to see the Christmas Holiday Spectacular. Expect a chorale group, a live production and a full orchestra. Trip includes lunch at Tam O'Shanter Inn.
