Kids Try to Trick Drivers with Cardboard Cat

A rundown of calls that came into the O.C. Sheriff’s Department from Aug. 30–31.

A caller reported that three juveniles set up a cardboard cutout of a cat on the 24900 block of Rancho de Linda, so that cars would swerve off the road. The incident occurred Friday, Aug. 31, at 9:20 p.m.

Here are more items from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department blotter. All incidents were reported within Laguna Niguel unless otherwise noted.

Friday, Aug. 31:

Prowler 10:35 p.m. 0 block of Brookview. A caller reported that a man dressed in dark clothing was looking into apartment windows. (Dana Point)

Suspicious Person 9:42 a.m. 32400 block of the Street of the Golden Lantern. A woman reported that a man had been pointing and staring at her for several months, while at 24 Hour Fitness.

Thursday, Aug. 30:

Disturbance 1:05 a.m. Pacific Island Drive/Ocean Way. A caller reported two subjects were having sex in the community Jacuzzi after hours.

Assist Outside Agency 5:58 p.m. Street of the Golden Lantern/Chapparosa Park Road. A caller reported that a possible bobcat or mountain lion was seen near the rear of baseball field #1 (back right) at the 300-foot marker, in the bushes behind the fence. Children were playing in the area. Orange County Animal Control was notified.
