Fire on Horse Trail, Kids Possibly Responsible

A rundown of calls that came into the O.C. Sheriff's Department from Sept. 5–6.

A caller reported kids may have started a fire on a horse trail, near the slope behind the 0 block of Knob Hill. The Orange County Fire Department contained the medium brush fire that had a slow rate of spread, and sent out an investigator. The incident occurred on Thursday, Sept. 6 at 1:50 a.m.

Thursday, Sept. 6:

Vandalism In Progress 12:53 p.m. 32400 block of the Street of the Golden Lantern. A caller reported someone at the 24 Hour Fitness was beating a locker with a hammer to try to open it.

Traffic Hazard 12 p.m. Crown Valley Parkway/Pacific Island Drive. Water was spouting about 6 feet into the air, past the water tower.

Wednesday, Sept. 5:

Citizen Assist 4:43 p.m. 29700 block of Niguel Road. A woman reported she believed someone stole her tags from her bicycle.

Keep the Peace 6:31 p.m. 32400 block of Crown Valley Parkway. A woman reported her neighbor parks his motorcycle so close to her vehicle that she cannot open her car door. She requested a police officer come out while she asked him to move his motorcycle. (Dana Point)
