Too Many Apples FLIPPED Applesauce
This is a great recipe to make with the kids, after the big turkey day.
As I looked in my fridge, I realized that there WAY too many apples for our family to eat. So, I put my Jersey Girl "thinkin'" cap on and decided before these go bad, let's make applesauce!
This is a great recipe to make with the kids, since they can help, which in turn, will encourage them to eat what they've made.

maple syrup
WHATCHA GOTTA DO:
Cut the apples into halves, then into 1/4s. (I like the skin on, but it's up to you).
Add them to a large pot and cover with water.
Bring to a boil, then simmer until the apples are soft. Drizzle with some maple syrup.
Optional: if you have blueberries or strawberries, you can add them as well for a flavored applesauce.
Drain the water, but save for a fresh apple "juice," then smash with a potato masher. You decide how lumpy you like it!
Cool, then enjoy! Use for waffles, pancakes, ice cream or a side!
