Two Years Before the Mast - annual community public reading

As part of the Festival of Whales, the Dana Point Historical Society presents the fourth annual public reading of the complete text of Richard Henry Dana's Two Years Before the Mast.  Readers take turns reading for 8 to 10 minutes each; the event is free and open to the public.  Reading is from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Friday, and continues on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. until the book is complete around noon.  Volunteer as a reader or watch officer (for a 2-hour shift to check in or time readers) by e-mail to twoyearsbeforethemastdp@gmail.com or call 949-899-0907.  Provide name, e-mail (or phone number) and preferred time.
