Installation of Rev. Kent Doss, Tapestry's New Unitarian Universalist minister
Tapestry, a Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Mission Viejo, will celebrate the installation of its new minister, Reverend Kent E. Doss, on Sunday, March 2 at 4:00. Tapestry was named "The Best Church in Orange County" by the editorial staff of O.C. Weekly last fall.
Reverend Doss has served as a Unitarian Universalist minister in Orange County for over seven Years. In addition to his ministry at Tapestry, he is also the President of the Pacific Southwest District of the Unitarian Universalist Association. He has agreed to join Tapestry as it heightens its commitment to becoming a powerful voice for liberal spirituality in the community and beyond. Since his role as a youth leader in his home congregation in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Reverend Doss has undertaken many projects promoting social justice and is dedicated to leading Tapestry into an ever more effective role as agent for change.
"Tapestry, as a congregation, has tremendous potential to be a liberal religious leader in Orange County. I am honored and excited to celebrate our future together with this public ritual," said Doss.
Tapestry's Sunday morning worship services embrace a variety of belief systems, including Humanist, Buddhist, Christian, Pagan and more. The dynamic religious education program draws about 20 children every week. With 140 adult members, Tapestry celebrates a deep commitment to social justice, including immigration reform, LGBT rights, environmental protection, and economic justice.
Fellow UU clergy and honored guests from orange County and across the country will participate in the ceremony celebrating Tapestry's new partnership with Reverend Doss.
