City Council Elections:  City Council Members are elected at-large for a four-year term. Council Members serve "staggered" terms, meaning that either two or three seats are open for election every two years. Council members may serve no more than two consecutive (four-year) terms.

Candidate Nomination Period:  July 14 through Aug. 8 at 5 p.m.  If an incumbent doesn't file nomination papers by this deadline, the filing period is extended five days until 5:30 pm on Wednesday, Aug. 13 for candidates other than the incumbent to file.

There are three seats open this year.

All potential candidates must be issued nomination papers by the City Clerk during this period. Requesting an appointment with the City Clerk is recommended as this process requires approximately one hour. Potential candidates or residents interested in learning more about the election process can view "Getting Started Candidate Information"(PDF).
