Will Dana Point Pot Shop Ban Go Up in Smoke?

State Supreme Court begins hearing case to decide whether cities and counties can outlaw medical marijuana outlets.

Will Dana Point's crackdown on medical marijuana dispensaries go up in smoke?

On Tuesday, the California Supreme Court begins hearing arguments in a case that will decide if such bans are legal.

According to a report in the Los Angeles Times, about 200 towns and counties have enacted pot-shop restrictions and some legal analysts expect the court to uphold the measures.

In Orange County, Lake Forest has waged an expensive battle against pot dispensaries using zoning laws and federal agents. Dana Point and Costa Mesa have also cracked down.

Lower courts have issued contradictory rulings on these enforcement efforts, setting the stage for the Supreme Court showdown in the case of City of Riverside vs. Inland Empire Patients Health & Wellness Center.

I hit enter in the comment and it posted - I wasn't done! Why would it post if you don't clickRead More "post comment"?! I read one story and the scrunched up left placement gave me a headache. The ad column on the right is way too big - too wide. If they made that smaller, swapped the "board" column and the news (so the news was in the middle), I think it would be easier to read.

With the ad block on the right and the boards info in the middle, it feels like the news part isRead More scrunched too far to the left.
