Sink Holes Cause Laguna Hills Evacuations

A water main break in Laguna Hills undermined a hillside and caused multiple small sink holes.

More than 20 homes were evacuated today after a water main break in Laguna Hills undermined a hillside and caused multiple small sink holes, a county fire official said.

The break was reported at 1:10 p.m. near the 25000 block of Via Lomas and along Clover Hill Lane, said Kris Concepcion of the Orange County Fire Authority.

"It is a mud and debris flow as a result of a water main break that has undermined the hillside," Concepcion said. "We had to evacuate 21 homes."
