Finally some information. Someone, somewhere knows where this person is. He needs to turn himself and be held accountable for this horrible crime. Thank you for continuing to cover this story.

Wonder why it took so long to make his name & description public? Ok, at 1st they didn't know if the registered owner was also the driver at the time, but you would think that at least after a day or 2 they could put out his info that they were at least looking to speak to him. It said they knew who the registered owner was very soon after. Probably long gone over the border by now since he seems to have abandoned where he lives, his car & his job.

I agree there's no reason why this info shouldn't have been released sooner, I'm sure someone may have know his whereabouts before he had a chance to flee, He is probably back in Mexico by now working for a drug cartel, karma will prevail, it always does.

La la October 03, 2012 at 11:42 AM
Lol is there some kind of underground society where all these "Hispanics" know each other and meet or something? Cuz from what you're saying Larry it seems kind of ridiculous to expect that all persons of Latin American descent in our community would magically know him just because we translated it into Spanish and just because he too is of the same ethnicity....
La la October 05, 2012 at 09:43 PM
is there any way to post his photo on "wanted fugitives" websites? this man isn't wanted on the for california. this isn't getting enough attention. there is a murderer on the loose. :(
La la October 05, 2012 at 09:44 PM
on the attorney general's website for california*
Paul w October 08, 2012 at 07:15 PM
The Salas family is our neighbor and it seems like everyone already knew that this person was a person of interest, so my question is, why didn't the police put this message out sooner? Being a person of interest doesn't mean you're guilty, so what gives? With the picture out sooner, maybe, just maybe someone coud have seen this individual and called-in the police....Now, we all know he's probably hiding in Mexico and we may never catch him.
John Buddhaa October 09, 2012 at 07:24 PM
this is the second murder involving a car accident 200 feet away from eachother within a years span and the police are trying to burry both cases, the other kid was beaten after he was hit with a car and the public doesnt evenknow about it. they dont want to find this guy, why same reason when i was carjacked in laguna niguel and police wrote it up as a traffic incident instead of gta why because the want laguna niguel to be the safest city. if they dont catch these people, it goes into unsolved case file thus they can write it however they want, i already talk to police there filing this as a minor traffic incident untill the guy is found then they will change it to murder .
John Buddhaa October 09, 2012 at 07:24 PM
why because if they file it for what it is the crime rate goes up and laguna niguel is no longer the safest city in the usa (according to fbi statistics) police are voiding solving this and many other cases because if they find it everyone loses money. the property value in laguna niguel will go dow it means less people will come here. this is bullshit. i know people who were innocent and did nothing and were had their house raided and was taken into custody within hours of someone getting hit with a bat. just because he looked like him. THey hd the murder weapon day 1 they knew it was registered to the guy, the guys dad the next day said he thought it was his soon, yet 3 weeks later the police released the photo. the father said it was his son on DAY 3 so why the freaking hold up...... and its not a process they book people weather or not they did it i kno
John Buddhaa October 09, 2012 at 07:26 PM
Mario's father openly addmitted to the police 2-3 days after they he new it was his soon, yet thepolice did nothing
Mr.Aho November 20, 2012 at 09:59 PM
this has to be solved John Buddhaa is right this will be the 2nd incident in the same area that a murder occured in Laguna Niguel in general location of Marina Hills and Golden Lantern. On May 3rd 2011 Dimitri George Vakaleris (age 15) was attacked on Marina Hills & Parc Vista E witch ended in Dimitri George Vakaleris passing away on May 12th 2011 in a coma at mission hospital from the injured of this incident. Laguna Niguel police know of Dimitri Vakaleris's case VERY well, but do you? most likely not. That is the point, why is laguna niguel police avoiding these MAJOR incidents. Stop brushing these things under the rug!!! We need justice for Dimitri Vakaleris and Carlos Salas!!!!
Mitsy December 16, 2012 at 10:28 PM
Yes it's true I agree with John Buddha and Mr.Aho the police aren't doing anything about these two crimes and the police say this area is safe but it's not true
