Daylight Savings This Sunday

I've never liked switching the clocks around... at least until I lived in Arizona a few years ago.

It's Daylight Savings time again, time to change our clocks. Some people love it. They tell me it feels like Spring has arrived. I've never liked switching the clocks around... at least until I lived in Arizona a few years ago. Arizona doesn't change it's clocks. It's stays on MST all year round. And when I was moving there I thought, “how great, no messing with the clock”. How wrong I was.

Since the rest of the country does change the time when I was in Arizona I had to constantly tell all my friends in California, “no, now that daylight savings time is here it's the same time here as where you are”. I spent the whole Spring and Summer calculating in my head, “am I calling too early?”. But it wasn't just that. All the TV programs would shift an hour because the rest of the country would shift. My radio talk shows would seem to move an hour. And my computer would always jump an hour even though it didn't need to.

So while I still don't like moving my clock and really don't think it's necessary anymore (I don't have crops to plant) I would rather live in beautiful Laguna Niguel and change my clocks like everyone else. And so I will, this Sunday, change my clocks.
