'Tis The Season—in September?

Stores around Laguna Niguel have already started stocking up on Halloween and Christmas items.

With Labor Day history and school in session, it’s just a matter of time before the holidays are upon us, right?

Well actually, Laguna Niguel stores are already well ahead of the game and are stocking up for Halloween and Christmas.

off of Pacific Park Drive and Alicia Parkway is a popular location for Laguna Niguel Halloween shoppers to visit to pick up their favorite spooky item. And the store has wasted no time in stocking up on items that are sure to give trick-or-treaters a scare.

“We are almost all set for Halloween. We have been receiving costumes over the last month, and we carry over a couple hundred costumes,” said store manager Michael Lopez.

However, this year is going to have some friendly competition against a new store just a few doors down. Halloween City has taken advantage of an empty retail space, and opened up a temporary Costumer Superstore that will be open until Nov. 2. The store is in the old Mervyn’s location at 27200 Alicia Parkway.

Other big box stores haven’t wasted any time either getting ready for the holiday season. has started stocking up on fall harvest decorations such as fake pumpkins, scarecrows and cornucopias.

Target has also started stocking shelves with trick-or-treat bags, and pumpkin carving kits.

Supermarkets, too, have jumped on the bandwagon including located at La Paz Road and Aliso Creek. The store has face paint, fog machines and cat decorations already on display in the front of the store in addition to a wide variety of Halloween candy bags.

While many people don’t start or even think about Christmas shopping until early November, has already started stocking up on Christmas items for those very early holiday shoppers. The store has two aisles filled with holiday gifts ranging from wrapping paper to an inflatable jolly snowman waving to those passing by.

Some say that it’s never too early to start preparing for the holidays. If you feel the need to get a head start on holiday shopping, these Laguna Niguel stores may have just what you need.
