Resident Wins $500 Worth of Free Toll Road Trips

Jake Thomason, a sales rep, is one of two winners in the most recent monthly $500-in-free-tolls drawing sponsored by The Toll Roads.

The commute for resident Jake Thomasen just get easier thanks to the The Toll Roads.

Thomason of Laguna Niguel is one of two winners of the most recent monthly $500-in-free-tolls drawing. Each month trips are tracked, two registered FasTrak drivers are randomly selected and $500 in tolls are credited to their respective FasTrak accounts. The other winner was Theresa Maguire of Newport Beach.

Thomason has been a FasTrak accountholder since 2006.  He paid his winning toll on the 73 Toll Road at the Aliso Creek off-ramp on April 24 at 11:21 a.m.  As a medical device sales representative for dental implants, Thomason drives The Toll Roads daily to get to and from doctors’ offices.  He’s calculated that the $500 in tolls will last him four months.

“I’m so grateful to have the convenience of The Toll Roads.  As a sales rep, the more time I’m in front of my doctors the more productive I am.  I guess I take The Toll Roads for granted because I’ve used them so frequently for years, however  there are days when I take the 405 home instead of the 73 and it adds at least a half hour to my trip.  That’s valuable time I could be spending decompressing with my wife and two dogs.  To me, that extra time is well worth the toll fees,” said Thomason.

According to The Toll Roads’ Chief Communications Officer Lisa Telles, the $500-In-Free-Tolls promotion was developed to reward FasTrak accountholders and increase awareness of The Toll Roads and the benefits of having a FasTrak account.  The promotion provides an added benefit to drivers who use The Toll Roads the most.  Past winners have included a student, small business owners, a pilot and long-distance commuters from the surrounding counties.

The $500-in-free-tolls sweepstakes started in Oct. 2011 and ends on Sept. 30, with two lucky FasTrak drivers selected each month. TCA FasTrak accountholders need to login to their account online or go to thetollroads.com/500 to begin the registration process.  Once registered, they are automatically entered to win every time they drive the 73, 133, 241 or 261 Toll Roads, the more they drive, the more times their account number is entered into that month’s drawing.

If drivers do not already have a TCA FasTrak account, they can establish one at TheTollRoads.com or the FasTrak Service Center at 125 Pacifica in IrvineFasTrak lets customers drive every toll road and toll bridge in California without stopping to pay a toll; tolls are automatically deducted from their pre-paid accounts.

All trips taken on the roads during a particular month will be eligible for that month’s drawing only. Only the accountholder is eligible to win, not the person driving during the winning trip.  No purchase necessary.  For official contest rules and regulations visit Thetollroads.com/500.
