Construction at New Grocery Stores Moving Along

Both stores are reportedly opening in 2012, according to their representatives. However, it looks like Fresh & Easy will be first as a big, green banner now appears on the front facade stating "Opening Feb. 1."

While Laguna Niguel will gain a store, the parent company, British-based Tesco, announced Tuesday that it is closing 12 stores, two in Orange County, Anaheim and Fountain Valley, due to poor sales.

Company spokesman Brendan Wonnacott confirmed that the Laguna Niguel store will indeed open on Feb. 1 at 8 a.m.

In recent weeks, where the new store is being built, have expressed concern over slow progress and that construction workers are taking up parking places.

Whole Foods, which officially is set to open "spring 2012," according to representatives.

"We will be starting our marketing outreach very soon," representatives said. 

The location, a former Tall Mouse craft store, also Norm Shaughnessy.

Hopefully this one will have the same prices and selection as the tustin Whole Foods. The center it is in right now is kind of a mess, and there are no cart returns so people just leave their carts all over the place.

KC: Good points, hopefully those things will be addressed as well as the parking spots that are being used by construction crews.

well thats a no brainer...whole foods has no preservatives, artificial coloring or hormones, does Fresh-n-easy??? The answer is NO

My husband is the southern pacific regional president of Whole Foods.. We live close by so I am thrilled to have one in the neighborhood. Finally.. = )))

Fresh & Easy is a JOKE. It's Food-4-Less trying to "green-wash" it's image. Their produce section is pathetic at best, but closer to nonexistent. I went in to one once in Arizona and the only thing "fresh" were pre-washed, pre-cut, pre-packaged baby carrots in a plastic bag :-( Not a single Certified Organic ANYTHING to be found at all, either. Was a waste of time & gas. Nothing 'fresh' or 'easy' about it.
