Kenny’s Music Store Celebrates 20 Years in Dana Point This Sunday

In celebration of their 20th Anniversary, Kenny’s Music Store will be hosting an open house and barbecue on Sunday, April 28, from 12 noon to 5:00 p.m. The event will be held at the store located at 24731 La Plaza in Dana Point, and is free to the public.

This event will also include an official public unveiling of a new music-themed mural being painted on the side wall of the store. Mary Mary Von Lortz, local artist and owner of Sidestreet Gallery in San Clemente, has been commissioned to create and paint the mural.

Famous barbecue duo, Two Guys Grilling, will be manning the barbecue, and live musical entertainment will be performed by several of Kenny’s Music Store music teachers.

“We want to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to all the musicians and their families we’ve been able to serve over the past 20 years. We love the city of Dana Point and we look forward to many, many more years of providing the best in musical instrument products and lessons to the residents of this town and surrounding communities,” said, Kenny “Big Daddy” Williams, who is co-owner of the shop with his wife, Kimberly.

Opened in 1993, Kenny’s Music Store sells a variety of musical instruments, provides music instruction by Orange County’s best music instructors and offers instrument repairs and rentals. They also offer special programs throughout the year such as a “Summer Band Camp” for kids.

The store has been awarded the prestigious “Top 100 Dealers Award” by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) for the past two years in a row. Owner, Kenny Williams, also performs locally with his band “Big Daddy Williams & Lexi G,” along with his step-daughter, Lexi.
