Goodbye, Brown Lunch Bags, Hello Reusable

Crown Valley Elementary School is doing its part to limit waste, thanks to some unique lunch bags and other resusable lunch items.

Brown lunch bags are so yesterday.

Today, it's all about what's cool and what helps to save the planet at the same time.

In effort to do both, and celebrate Earth Day, April 22, students at  can purchase litter-less lunch supplies offered by Snack-TAXIs, an online site that has been selling such items since 2003.

The school wants students to help reduce plastic waste by using stainless-steel water bottles and reusable sandwich and snack pouches. The water bottles are embossed with the Crown Valley Elementary logo and are BPA-free, lightweight, non-leaching, non-leaking, durable and dishwasher safe. Sports and loop caps are available. An 18-ounce bottle is $13.  Snack-TAXIs are reusable sandwich and snack pouches. They eliminate typical plastic baggies and are easy to use and clean.

The snack pouch is $7; the sandwich pouch is $9.
