Fresh & Easy Market Coming Soon, But Not Quite Yet

The chain that likes to refer to itself as a 'neighborhood market' is opening a smaller store in Laguna Niguel called Fresh & Easy Express, but not for a while.

Laguna Niguel appears to be a hot spot for supermarkets to set up shop.

Last year, signed a lease to take over the former , but it still has not opened.

A few weeks ago, and, wait, there's still more market news.

As previously reported by Laguna Niguel Patch, a Fresh & Easy sign was posted in a former video store stating it was coming soon to the center. Well, it is, and here's the skinny: It's going to be an “express market.”

“In order to open stores in even more communities, we are testing a handful of 3,000-square-foot stores called Fresh & Easy Express including the site in Laguna Niguel,” said Brendon Wonnacott, a spokesperson for the market chain. “We’re always looking to serve more neighborhoods and the smaller format will help us accomplish that.”

What's Unique

For those unfamiliar with the chain, Wonnacott described it as a “modern, 21st century neighborhood market.”

But residents should not get their green shopping bags ready quite yet. It's going to be a while before they can start stocking up on groceries. The company does not yet have a time frame for the store's opening, Wonnacott said.
