'Food Network' Star Coming to Whole Foods Market

Adam Gertler will collaborate with the market for his final pop-up restaurant for the summer at the Laguna Niguel store, Aug. 30 - Sept. 1.

Chef Adam Gertler will stop by for the last time this summer at Rock It Bar, located inside the Laguna Niguel store, 23932 Aliso Creek Road, Aug. 30 - Sept. 1.

Before settling into his permanent Southern California location, Food Network star Adam Gertler, will work side-by-side with Whole Foods Market Laguna Niguel's executive chef, Ashley Santo Domingo, to create a summer gastropub experience.

Both veterans of cooking-inspired reality TV shows, Gertler has starred in shows including Food Network's Kid in a Candy Store and Will Work for Food, while Santo Domingo was a contestant in season nine of Bravo's popular Top Chef.

"It is such a privilege to work in the kitchen with Chef Gertler, who has such a deep love and respect for food and the people he cooks for," said Santo Domingo. "The menu we put together is one that our shoppers and foodies, will not want to miss -- fusing together our individual styles and featuring a variety of draft beer options."

This summer gastropub fare will include Gertler's beloved barbeque and Jewish deli style-inspired menu with a dash of Santo Domingo's sides including a selection of grilled summer veggies and salads.

"From wursts, kielbasas and pastramis to Korean-style vegan burgers and a great variety of fresh sides, we'll have something for every taste bud," added Santo Domingo.

The brainchild of brothers Adam and Keith Gertler, Gertler's Kitchen has been popping up all over California including stops in San Francisco, Santa Monica, and Manhattan Beach, and is scheduled to set up a permanent location in the Los Angeles area later this year. Prior to teaming up with his brother for their latest culinary endeavor, Gertler made his Food Network debut advancing to the final episode of The Next Food Network Star. There, he was tapped by the network to host his first prime-time series Will Work For Food in 2009, and has since starred in or been a regular contributor to a full-line up of top-rated shows.

Santo Domingo graduated from the CIA certified culinary program at North Seattle Community College in 2005 where she was nominated Culinary Student of the Year. After graduation, she honed her skills at restaurants including Café Juanita, El Gaucho, and Joule, and also ran her own successful catering company.

Seating for the pop up restaurant will start at 11 a.m. each day, with no reservations required. Additionally, Whole Foods Market shoppers can take advantage of exciting cooking demos on Aug. 30 and 31 at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. and on Sept. 1 at 1 p.m.

I hit enter in the comment and it posted - I wasn't done! Why would it post if you don't clickRead More "post comment"?! I read one story and the scrunched up left placement gave me a headache. The ad column on the right is way too big - too wide. If they made that smaller, swapped the "board" column and the news (so the news was in the middle), I think it would be easier to read.

With the ad block on the right and the boards info in the middle, it feels like the news part isRead More scrunched too far to the left.
