Dana Point Voted Among Best Places for Labor Day Weekend

The city ranked number 14 among 15 destinations as one of the best places to spend the holiday weekend for singles. Even if you're not single, there is plenty to do in the city known as "the whale capital of the west."

Labor Day is around the corner and if you don't plan on going anywhere, why not head to Dana Point?

Close to home, you don't have to spend a ton on gas, and the city was recently rated number 14, among the top 15 destinations for singles to spend the holiday weekend by MissTravel.com.

AAA Travel projects 33 million Americans will take trips at least 50 miles from home between Thursday, Aug. 30, and Monday, Sept. 3. The projection marks a 2.9 percent increase over 2011 travel, according to a AAA statement.

I hit enter in the comment and it posted - I wasn't done! Why would it post if you don't clickRead More "post comment"?! I read one story and the scrunched up left placement gave me a headache. The ad column on the right is way too big - too wide. If they made that smaller, swapped the "board" column and the news (so the news was in the middle), I think it would be easier to read.
