Cooking with a 'Wiseguy' and New Celebrity Chef for Signature Sports Bar

Vince Guccione is working closely with the new owners of Signature Sports Bar and Restaurant in the former Draft Choice space. He once cooked for Frank Sinatra and author Sydney Sheldon among others.

No stranger to the kitchen, Guccione has been the private chef to playwright/producer/author Sidney Sheldon, legendary crooner Frank Sinatra, W. E. McClatchy the founder of the Sacramento Bee, and Dennis Washington, owner of the largest copper mine in the country.

Signature Sports Bar and Restaurant while be quite different from the former Draft Choice. Says new co-owner Michelle Hamilton, "We are creating a new bar layout and enhancing the restaurant area, kitchen and restroom facilities. There will be high and low top seating, new décor and of course, new flooring and paint. We are deep cleaning and sanitizing from top to bottom."

As executive chef consultant, Chef Vince has created a new direction; everything from the way food is purchased, prepared and presented has been upgraded.

"Chef Vince contacted friends who are owners and chefs in sports bars in Chicago, New Jersey and Cincinnati, and incorporated their bestselling dishes into our menu," Hamilton said. 

Guccione is the celebrity chef and host of Your Personal Chef on CBS affiliate KPSP Channel 2 in the Coachella Valley. He has a Friday radio show on News Talk 920AM KPSI. 

At the age of 28 Guccione was vice president and marketing director in New York and Chicago for Penthouse magazine.

After moving to California he founded and published Orange Coast Magazine, one of the largest regional magazines in the country.

A lifelong passion of cooking led Guccione into a career as a professional chef after being schooled in fine cuisine throughout Europe.
