The California Employment Development Department announced recently the state unemployment rate dropped 0.3 percent to 9.8 percent in November, with the state adding 268,800 jobs over the year, marking a 1.9 percent increase.

According to Laguna Niguel Branch Manager Jennifer Caison of Accountemps: "We’re seeing some bright spots in the employment market for the months ahead, with compensation projected to increase 4.6% in California in the coming year."

"A supply and demand imbalance has emerged for specialized talent within many professional occupations, including information technology and accounting," Caison said.
