Laguna Niguel Chamber Community Fair is a Hit

The event on Saturday attracted folks from around the community who stopped by to lend their support.

Businesses and service organizations came out to the Community Fair at the Plaza De La Paz Shopping Center on Saturday to lend support

“This is great for the city to get to know businesses,” said Mary Smith, CFO of . turning away to give a little girl a pack of four color crayons and a small coloring book before continuing, “It’s a good chance to get to know everyone.”

Besides mainstay supporters such Allen Cadillac, new businesses in Laguna Niguel experienced community outreach for the first time. Even Patch.com was there to show its support.

“This is our first real outreach event,” said Matt Kirby of Cross Fit, a fitness and conditioning program. “When you start a business in a community you really need a friendly network. The chamber has been very beneficial for us.”

Similar statements were echoed by the folks at a new restaurant that opened recently.

“We’ve been open for three weeks in Laguna Niguel,” said Nicole Brown, a server at the steakhouse’s new Laguna Niguel location. “We’re near the   We have a good relationship with them.”

“This is for businesses to get their name out there,” said Debbie Newman, president/CEO of the Laguna Niguel Chamber. “If a business can get at least one good lead, it can become more.”

Besides businesses, charitable and service organizations were also present at the fair. Guests also had a chance to look inside a fire truck and ambulance.

“We’re here to show our programs like the Neighborhood Watch and the Beeline News,” said Sgt. J. MacPherson of the under the shade of a white tent with a satellite map of Laguna Niguel behind him.

“This gets the community aware of the and what we do,” said Mark Snider, the current president of the Lions Club. “We’re a community service organization whose goal is sight conservation. We provide people with glasses, guide dogs for the blind, and fund the Blind Children’s Learning Center.”
