A Jazzy Juice Bar Opening and a New Martial Arts Studio in Old City Hall Space

This week's Laguna Niguel Biz Briefs are sweet and healthy.

Residents looking for a healthy smoothie or shot of wheatgrass are in luck. Nekter Juice Bar is coming to Laguna Niguel around May 1. Also, space at the former City Hall has been leased by a new martial arts studio.

Jazzy Juice Bar

its fourth Southern California location and first South Orange County store in the Ocean Ranch plaza before summer. Construction on the former Beach Pit BBQ location at 32371 Golden Lantern began on March 12 and a grand opening date is estimated for May 1.

The new location will mark the largest footprint of the Nekter Juice Bar stores. The expansion will allow Nekter to offer more amenities at point of purchase including one day cleanses, healthy snacks and fresh shot and specialty juice sampling stations. Acclaimed architectural firm, Urban Arena, will transform the location into a naturalist environment using Redwood, a soft color palette and rounded structural accents.

The active community of Laguna Niguel is an ideal location for the Nekter Juice Bar philosophy of all natural products, pressed green juice blends, raw vegan smoothies, specialty concoctions and cleanses that fuse health and taste, according to the brand’s Co-Founder, Steve Schulze.

“Since our first store opened in Costa Mesa, we keep hearing that South Orange County needs a Nekter Juice Bar,” he said. “With our third location in Long Beach successfully open, we are excited to finally come south and get to know the Laguna Niguel community and their juicing needs.”

The first Nekter Juice Bar opened in Costa Mesa in October of 2010, followed by the a second location in Corona del Mar in March 2011, and a third store opening in Long Beach in March. The Nekter Cleanse became a health phenomenon with the one-to-five day detoxification and resurgence program that offers 15 pounds of local-grown fresh pressed natural fruits, vegetables and raw nuts in delicious nutrient-dense blends. This signature cleanse is available in Nekter Juice Bars and online.

Another Martial Arts Studio

Finally after more than seven months, a portion of space has been leased out at the old Laguna Niguel City Hall offices at 27841 La Paz Rd., in May.

Look for a full-featured TaeKwonDo school that offers a professional and a fun learning environment for both novices and experts alike to move from its location at 23904 Aliso Creek Rd.

Classes are led by USA TaeKwonDo Champion Master Graesser, who has more than 32 years of Martial Arts experience.

The studio is moving from its location of 12 years because the school has grown, he said.

"Our lease is coming to an end and we need more space, the new school will be 3,400 square feet," Graesser said.

Raised in Ft. Myers Fla., Graesser started TaeKwonDo at the age of 11 under the instruction of Master Jung Lee. At 14 Jimmy achieved Black Belt status and was teaching entire classes at the age of 15. He has been a long time businessman in Laguna Niguel.
