The Shooter Impact at Fashion Island After The Shooting

The shooter impact.

I  live in Laguna Niguel  and decided to take in the season by visiting South Coast Plaza and Fashion Island. I let my home at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 17

I visited South Coast Plaza first.

Took in the Christmas decorations and noticed lots of activity at the department stores and was surprised by how many people were at the restaurants and even in line waiting.

Many people left the mall with shopping bags. Approx an hour half later, I left for Fashion Island. Many stores were empty.

Restaurants were empty, although many were there during the dinner hour. It appeared to be a "sleepy giant."

To make it fair and balanced, I returned to South Coast Plaza and found it as busy as ever.

The amazing stats are:

5:1 ratio, foot traffic in favor South Coast Plaza.

Ethnic groups (Asian) *** 85 percent at South Coast Plaza.

90 percent Caucasian at Fashion Island. ***

It's remarkable the difference between the two plazas.

South Coast Plaza, keep up the good marketing approach.

My day was intended to take in the season, but instead, turned out as a survey with stats.

Happy Holidays, Barton B. Mac Leod,
