It was reported mid-day Monday that reality TV star Kim Kardashian filed for a divorce from her husband of two months, Kris Humphries.
The late night TV show hosts including David Letterman were having a field day with the news on Monday evening.
During his monologue Letterman said, "They’re planning a lavish divorce at the Laguna Niguel Ritz-Carlton with 3,000 guests.
He also said, “They started bickering at the altar -- now they’re fighting over custody of the cake.”
And Jay Leno, “To their credit, they did try 20 minutes of counseling.”
We asked Deanne French, director of public relations at the Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel if there was indeed a Kardashian divorce party being planned at the famed hotel.
She said, "No, just an off hand comment I’m sure."
"Our resort attracts many high profile and celebrity guests who expect the best service and discretion. We respect the privacy of all of our guests and do not comment on their activities or private lives," French said.
