Grab & Go: Fun Things to Do This Weekend, April 2-3

The weather is finally supposed to be sunny and warm. So get out and enjoy the weekend.

Spring is here, so it's time to get outside and enjoy the warm weather everyone is promising us.  If you're staying home for spring break and are looking for things to do, check out this week's events. 

1. Saturday, April 2:  Free admission to the Discovery Science Center with a Bank of America credit or debit card.  The Discovery Center's annual Bubblefest exhibit begins Saturday.  The kids can also run, jump and play their way through the interactive exhibit about the human body in Sesame Street Presents:  The Body.  Discovery Science Center  2500 N. 2. Sunday, April 3: Dana Point Coastal Arts Concert Series at 2 p.m.  The  Dana Point Coastal Arts is bringing world-class live classical music to our own backyard.  The event features solo performer and chamber orchestras.  Admission: $12 adult, $8 seniors.  St. Edwards Church, 33926 La Primavera,  Dana Point.

3. Saturday, April 2 and Sunday, April 3:  Strawberry tours at Tanaka Farms,  9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.   Tanaka Farms is Orange County's largest organic farm and offers a fabulous produce stand, strawberry tours and family cookout tours in spring and summer.  The family will learn so much about fruits and veggies on this tour, and you'll even get to sample lots of goodies straight from Mother Earth and take home a box of strawberries that you picked yourself.  Reservations are not required on weekends, and don't forget the sunscreen!  Tanaka Farms, 5380 University Dr.,  Irvine.  949-653-2100.

4. Saturday, April 2 and Sunday, April 3:  The Easter Bunny arrives at at 10 a.m. Activities include daily egg hunts, pictures with the Easter Bunny, hay rides and face painting.  Irvine Park Railroad,  1 Irvine Park Rd.,  Irvine.  714-997-3968.

5. Thursday, April 7 and Friday, April 8:  Bear-Le There Tots Gymnastics Parent-Participation,  10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.  Grab your preschooler and enjoy some fun gymnastics fun without a monthly commitment.  Bear-Le There Gymnastics is offered every Thursday and Friday morning, and you can attend as your schedule permits.  Classes are first-come, first-served and do not require pre-registration.
