Grab & Go: Nature Walks and Child's Day Celebration This Weekend

This is the perfect weekend to get out and enjoy the great outdoors thanks to a variety of events in and around Laguna Niguel.

Saturday, April 28, Nature Walk from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.  Join the O’Neill Regional Park naturalists on a free nature walk and learn about Trabuco Canyon animals and nature on a light to moderate walk on mostly paved roads. Saturday, April 28,  5th Day of the Child Celebration from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Join in on the “Day of the Child – Treasure of the Future,” day tomorrow. The mission of this group is to empower and inspire at-risk youth and families in San Juan Capistrano and the surrounding areas. Live family entertainment, food, booths and activities will be provided for the kids. Kids are free, adults minimum donation $1. Whether you are fearful of fascinated with snakes, come join guest speaker Scott Gibson for a free 1 hour program at the Nature Center to learn more about snakes found in Southern California and Riley Wilderness Park. Learn to identify snakes, what to do when encountered, and have your favorite snake questions answered. Also, see a live Rosy Boa and California Kingsnake. Parking $3 per vehicle. Saturday, April 28, Caspers Campfire Program from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Come join a Caspers ranger for an hour of fun and learning about Caspers Wilderness Park. The Saturday night campfire program may include a slide presentation, wilderness safety, games and activities for children, animal adaptations, skins and skulls, a live animal demonstration and a chance to visit the Nature Center.
