Starting the first week in January 2012, "hometown girl" artist Lórien Eck will be exhibiting her latest artwork at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Laguna Niguel. Born and raised in Laguna Niguel, Eck creates unique mixed media paintings that are rich in texture, color, light, sparkle and dimension.  The collection to be featured at the Ritz is inspired by images captured through the Hubble Space Telescope.  "Each painting is a one-of-a-kind creation, preserving the touch of the hand and the pure energy of spirit," says Eck.  Her inspiration comes from the quest for beauty, truth and the Divine in all beings and things.

After graduating from a local high school, Ms. Eck went on to study art at San Francisco State University. She has spent the last 10 years teaching art to inner city children in Los Angeles, and is now focusing on her own fine art career. Her artwork is dedicated to the loving memory of her sister Alisa Diane Eck.

The exhibition at the Ritz Carlton runs January 5 - March 31, 2012. 10% of the art sales will go to a charitable cause.

Her work can also be viewed online at www.lorieneck.com or call (949) 357-5510 for additional information.

I hit enter in the comment and it posted - I wasn't done! Why would it post if you don't clickRead More "post comment"?! I read one story and the scrunched up left placement gave me a headache. The ad column on the right is way too big - too wide. If they made that smaller, swapped the "board" column and the news (so the news was in the middle), I think it would be easier to read.

With the ad block on the right and the boards info in the middle, it feels like the news part isRead More scrunched too far to the left.
