Dana Point Symphony Returns in February

Opening night is Feb. 8, with the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto performed by American violin virtuoso Elizabeth Pitcairn on the Red Mendelssohn Stradivarius of 1720.

Following the overwhelming success of its inaugural season, the DPSO, led by superstar conductor Dean Anderson, will dazzle again with Destiny 2013.

Highlights of the 2013 season include:

Feb. 8, 7:30 p.m.

Opening night with the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto performed by American violin virtuoso Elizabeth Pitcairn on the Red Mendelssohn Stradivarius of 1720

In addition to presenting high caliber music, the Dana Point Symphony features a visual artist exhibition at the meet-the-artist receptions. The February 8th event will also see a presentation of visual art by Ingrid Wolters.

The mission of the Dana Point Symphony is to provide world-class classical music to Dana Point and surrounding communities and make it accessible to everyone. The Dana Point Symphony was created through the vision of its artistic and executive director Berenika Schmitz, principal conductor and music director Dean Anderson and The City of Dana Point.

The DPSO is comprised of talented members from all over southern California, including musicians from Orange, San Diego, and Los Angeles counties. Each member of the orchestra holds a unique wealth of expertise and experience on their chosen instruments. Full-time professionals in the music industry and those currently pursuing degrees in music join together to share their passion for classical symphonic music presented with the highest standards of excellence.

St. Edward’s Church is the magnificent setting for all performances. The Dana Point Symphony is grateful to St. Edward’s for opening its doors to the community. Matching incredible acoustics with the floor to ceiling backdrop of the ocean behind the stage , there is no better way to enjoy a live symphony orchestra. With state of the art theater seating and comfortable handicap and elderly access as well as ample parking, it is a gem in the City of Dana Point.
