Whether you've already left for the holiday or waiting for someone to arrive, here is the forecast from AccuWeather.com for the country this Thanksgiving.

A Pacific storm train is causing travel problems for Thanksgiving to the Northwest, while fog blankets major cities in the Midwest. AccuWeather's region-by-region breakdown of how weather might impact Thanksgiving travel can be found below, thanks to information provided by the weather web site.

Rockies/Plains
Much of the Rockies and the Plains will be dominated by dry weather under the influence of high pressure. Very few weather-related travel issues are predicted.

However, a few showers and thunderstorms will rumble across New Mexico and West Texas on Wednesday.

West
The Northwest will be the stormiest part of the nation for Thanksgiving travel. Hazardous travel for motorists and flight delays could result from low-elevation rain, mountain snow and high winds.

Rain will persist in Seattle and Portland through Wednesday. Enough rain may fall over saturated ground for flooding to occur in some outlying areas.

Gusty winds will also continue to lash the Northwest into midweek.

Snow will continue fall over major mountain passes, such as Snoqualmie along I-90 in Washington, through midweek. More than a foot of snow can pile up over some of the mountain passes. Motorists traveling for Thanksgiving can run into slippery and hazardous travel. Check for restrictions such as traction tires before traveling.

Rain and low clouds will reach southward into northern California through midweek. Flight delays are likely in San Francisco.

Even farther south, dry and mild weather is in store for Southern California and the interior Southwest.
